I hope you understand that the minute you become a Christian which the term means, little Christ, there is war going on inside you! 
Ephesians 6:12-15 should pinpoint the idea that we Christians are not attention seeking! It is a true battle out there between a Holy God and the worst enemy of our souls. 
Jesus is waiting for you to come to him. Will you go to him?
